Step 1 - Make a list of your favourite and most profitable customers. These are normally customers who are cooperative, loyal, easy to get on with, who regularly pass referrals and give you lots of repeat business. If only you had more customers just like them!
Step 2 - Now make a list of your worst customers - these are the ones that are not cooperative, who waste your time, are never happy and cost you money. They are not profitable, do not refer well, and give work to your competitors as they are price sensitive.
The strategy is to make more time for you to focus on getting more perfect customers by letting go of your worst customers who drain your time and energy. You may think that this may not be good for business and fear you will lose profit.
Let us show you how to make finding more perfect customers easy. You will then be less fearful of letting go of your time wasters.
Step 3 - The secret is case studies. Have case studies written that deliver a win-win for both you and your customer. At FREEDOM, not only do we give this strategy to our clients, we use it ourselves because it is the most effective way to prove to a new prospect that you deliver on your promise. Social proof is key.
Take a look at the case studies below to see how they work:
Step 4 - If you break your customers into market sectors and/or niches, you can then find more of the same and develop a marketing campaign to attract their attention, make an appointment, identify their needs, and use the case study as proof that you will deliver on your promise.
Take a look at the 80/20 rule for profitable customers and see how you can quickly double profits by focusing on your top 20% customer that deliver 80% of your profits.
The person we use for our case studies is Ian Denny from Smart ICT Factory. If you would like Ian to make contact with you send us an email and we will pass him your details.
You can use case studies on your website and insert them into books, blogs or articles you may write. Your customers may promote themselves with them and at the same time promote you.
Step 5 – Take action. Doing nothing will achieve nothing - you have to make a decision. Do you want more profits and cash in the bank?
Yes!!!!
So what do you need to do first? – send us an email and we will put you in touch with Ian. Once you have your case studies, what will you do with them?
- Post them on your website
- Link blogs to them
- Link them to email campaigns
- Design marketing campaigns that target your market sector
- Ask your customers to email them to people they know
- Take them to networking events, and show them to others with pride
- Educate others so they know what you do by showing them your case studies
- Ask for referrals once people understand what you do Until next time have fun with this and double your profits
